official name was Dan’s Sandwich Shop. Of course we simply called it DAN’s.

Saying..i never got a sandwich there, per se, from 1959-1966.

No hamburgers ? Isn't a hamburger considered a sandwich ? Sandwich or not, I still love 'em.

Sounds like youy were like my son who was recruited as a swimmer with a partial scholarship. He was in the School of Architecture. Called me and asked if we would be upset if he rejected the scholarship because the coach was trying to get him to change his major since it required lots of time. We said absolutely not.

The point of this is to say the father of another boy from Raleigh, who was sharing a house with our son, asked me whether the Architecture program at Clemson was a four year or five year program. My response was that he was doing everything within his power trying to make a seven year deal. He then asked, " what is it about that place that makes everyone hate to leaBE there?" I told him you just have to be there to understand it.

I tried that once with a friend & was more than the two of us could eat - and that’s saying something- he had a room in the back corner just for that

A friend of mine was in Dan's when he was a student and was naming all of the pictures of atheletes Dan had on the wall. Someone thought they could stump him and and pointed to a 1940's baseball player way in the back. My friend reply, "Charlie Mimms, Elliott, SC." The guy asked, how he could have possibly known that. My friend replied, "He is my father's first cousin!"
