Western NC Restaurant Advice Needed

Headed to some projects tomorrow, gotta go through Rutherford/Spindale then Highlands, Franklin, Waynesville, just outside Asheville, then back to Charlotte.
Other than Asheville, any suggestions for places to eat around there, especially Highlands and Franklin?
Ugly Dog Pub in Highlands looks decent.

Have a CFI in Sylva at 10am. Its only a 4.5 hour drive from Raleigh.
No food recs, though.

Great lunch/early dinner spot. Better food than the Ugly Dog, but Ugly Dog is good. We like to eat a late lunch there and skip dinner before heading to Kilwins in the evening for some desert.

went to Highlands for the eclipse, ate a breakfast there and got pizza to go for another meal. Unique place, dew recommend. Also ate a lunch in Brevard right on main st, seems like it was some Mayberry-type name, a few locations in NC. Twas good as well.
All so, jealous of that ride, I love going through that part of the world.

This makes me chuckle.....grew up eating there my whole life. My dads bud owned the place for many years. It is indeed a treasure.
