It was great to see Wharton get that hit, but i have a ???

Are we going to have to see jolly on the bench everytime we have a lefty? I know lefty on lefty is the hardest match-up, but is it worth putting in a righty who is hitting almost .200 points lower? Wharton came through last night, but I feel Jolly can too. Also, our 3rd basemen is killing us. What are yalls thoughts?

I was wondering the same thing last night. Wharton is the DH, and he showed some pretty good promise last year. His stats from 2015 were close to Jolly's, he just hasn't had a lot of opportunity so far this season. So I guess they look at it as, close to the same batting percentage last year, but a little better match up.

I hope Wharton does come around so we do have a righty to face lefties as our DH. It makes a difference when you get to swing more so we will see how Wharton does the rest of the weekend. Personally I think Jolly is a better hitter and has done enough to solidify himself as our DH, but I guess Monte feels differently. Either way we must have a DH that can hit, b/c our 3rd baseman is an automatic out.

Also, Chris Williams finally starts to hit the ball and then he pinch hits Triller to face a righty??? I just don't understand it.

Would love to see Batson get more chances. He has power as

he hit a couple of home runs last season playing very sparingly. Coach Lee gave him a couple of starts but he couldn't get his batting going. Hope he gets some more chances soon.

Prior to the game last night Wharton had 8 total at bats for the season. Hard to develop any sort of rhythm with that few of at bats through 20 games. Kid is a really good hitter....just needs to get more reps vs live pitching. Jolly is a very good hitter as well and he hits left handed pitching well.
