these things happen from time to time. I remember being a student and people making a big deal about MLK day parties. If I remember correctly, the world didn't end.
As far as the English professor goes, just ignore him otherwise you'll encourage him. God, now I sound like the teacher.

Not saying he will get into trouble, but how can you attack the football team for this? Don't say it isn't an attack because who COULD directly be hurt by his comments? The football team (and basketball) are the only places on campus where white people are the majority (students). This had nothing to do with football besides like someone else said the racist thing is assuming that all (gang name)'s are black. There are white people in that gang. Anyway this party had been going on, the stupid part is calling out a real gang because if the gang took offense... uhoh. Nowhere is this about race unless you assume only black people are members of that gang.

It's probably closer to 2% seeing as it's mainly a Los Angeles-area gang. The lower classes in LA are pretty segregated--especially when it comes to gangs. Latin & Black gangs are often in relatively brutal race wars.
