Tomorrow doesn’t feel like a National Championship game

Not because we aren’t in it but because 2 SEC teams are and are playing in Atlanta on top of that. Feels like the SEC championship game. I expect ratings will be wayyy down. This game also hasn’t gotten the same pub as our games with Alabama

The best ratings for the CFP was the Ohio St title game

with Oregon in 2014.
Games with two teams from the same region, unless one of them is Notre Dame, don't seem to draw well. Shoot, our second title game against Bama had a slightly less rating than the classic first game in 2015.
The numbers won't be bad for the game tomorrow night, but I doubt they approach the Ohio State/Oregon title game.

could, and if the situation ever occurs again, should engineer the rankings of the top 4 so that no two teams from the same conference met for the National Championship.
The viewership and interest is reduced and to some extent -
THAT'S WHY THEY WENT TO 4 TEAMS AFTER THE LSU - BAMA CHAMPIONSHIP!

The committee and t.v. execs and probably most neutral folks wanted OU in so we wouldn't yet again have an all south final.

What if they aren't?
Looks like the only option will be for Alabama to beat UGA by fewer points than they beat Clemson for it to be even debatable.
In that instance - in light of the playoff - the NCAA and ESPN has much more to gain by teams from different conferences than teams from the same conference being in the Championship game.

A pre-requisite for a playoff spot should be to win your conference, like the guidelines for the selection committee say.
