I'm a little surprised not to see one of the Florida teams

Sep 13, 2019, 9:33 AM

on there.

All three Florida NC were 1-loss seasons. Granted the '96 *might* have a case since they avenged and blew out FSU but still, 1 loss each time.

Yeah that doesn't mean a great deal to me

Sep 13, 2019, 11:36 AM

honestly. 1-loss teams can very easily be better than undefeated teams.

I agree, I would put the 96 Florida team over the '11 and 15 Bama team, but I understand the knock against the Florida teams. The '06 team was edging out folks and the '08 team was better in margin but was a lot weaker schedule and less impressive in the late games

Actually, that is an interesting point with this list, where is 09 14-0 Alabama team?

Uggg, duh #2... they weren't that good, maybe 6th or so

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think the list is pretty crappy in general

Sep 13, 2019, 12:33 PM [ in reply to Re: Yeah that doesn't mean a great deal to me ]

2010 Auburn wasn't a great team. That team had an all-time great player that had one of the most dominant seasons in CFB history at QB and Nick Fairley on defense. Those guys put that team on their backs and got them over the hump, but they were hardly dominant outside of the South Carolina game. 7 of their 14 wins were 1 possession games including OT against our Tigers.

I know these are all supposed to be title winning teams, but 2011 LSU was better than several of the teams on this list.

What about last year's Alabama squad? They were constantly referred to as the greatest ever up until the last game of the season, so they must have made a mistake here.

That team would have been in the top one or two had they not been prison raped by Clemson.

who can take this seriously with 1998 Vols on there

Sep 13, 2019, 10:06 AM

they only won the championship game because FSU was starting Marcus Outzen at QB? Who, yeah right, my point exactly.

4 of these deserve It, they had to Beat Clemson to win it. 1966, 2015 Bama, 1980 UGA and 2010 Auburn!

1980 UGA had pull out of the @$$ wins against Florida (Lindsay Scott TD) and Clemson (2 Scott Woerner TDs on int and punt return and a Jeff Hipp last second int in the end zone) plus in the Sugar Bowl, Notre Dame fumbled the openning kickoff in the endzone!
