Isn't overthrow better than underthrow?

Frustrating that we could have had some long TD passes, but isn't it much better to have more juice than needed instead of laying out there for an INT?
Watson is making me a bit nervous with his consistent inconsistency...

Yeah, I get it, but we need the long pass

to be a part of our arsenal along with the effective short passing game. We've been spoiled with Sammy's speed, but looks like No.3 might be our guy. Just need to hit him on the run like Watson did on the 51 yard TD pass. S

Yeah- a little bit of an off night but just think about how much depth and youth there is at the WR position right now. Give it a little bit of time, let some chemistry develop, and we'll be... More unstoppable than we already are?
Speaking of which, hasn't Watson just finished his first full season's worth of games?

He has reasons to keep working...

to stay hungry. DW knows he has some work to do, and he said as much in his post-game interviews.
As for the passing, yeah... overthrow is better. Underthrown often means INT. If he had had Sammy Watkins or Martavis Bryant to target, a couple of those overthrown passes may well have been touchdowns. Speed kills.

Didn't he only have one interception as a result of a bad throw? The other he just got hit and it just floated out there into a sea of DBs... All of his other passes were long, except for the clutch receptions of course.

I'm not so sure that DW4 was a little nervous about more INT's, so he seemed to err on the side of caution (overthrow). He might have lost a little confidence after that first pick.

several of his int's have been overthrows. For instance, at Louisville, first series.
I felt that his int's against BC (under throws), were mostly b/c he was hurrying and feeling pressure coming at him. This was a good, aggressive, strong D line and rush. His throws were "immature" and forced, and he will need to get better at just throwing it away instead of forcing and trying to make things happen all on his own. He should have eaten the ball and taken the sac on the second int.

Underthrows can easily turn into PI though simply by stopping and letting the defender run into you.

You are starting to see more back shoulder throws to the wr. Cornerbacks rarely turn around and look for the ball.

Depends on coverage but if your primary concern is a pick because of coverage just throw it out of bounds .
