Is the '14 D-line Clemson's BEST EVER???

This is a loaded question. Clemson has seen its fair share of great, and I mean GREAT, defensive lineman. But collectively, across the line and into the depth chart, is there any line in your memory that can compare to this one? We all know that they got little to no respect from ANYONE outside of the Clemson nation. However, EVERY SINGLE TIME, this defense played with a monkey on its back, a chip on their right shoulder, and little devils and angels on the other, and put to rest the doubters.
I just personally think this is the greatest Clemson defensive line in the history of Clemson football.

If you were around in the early 80's, you saw the same thing as the 2014 team, IMO. The Fridge and Michael, William Devane, etc. were great players. Not saying this year team is worse, because they are not. Just that we have had great defenses all during the 80's and I think it's impossible to say
that one year is the best.

They ran the 3-4 and the outside guys were so talented and deep. That is the greatest defense in Clemson history.

I'm good friends with an ex-D-Lineman from the '90-'92...

...days. He ended up playing for the Dolphins for a few years. He is 6'4" and still in pretty intimidating shape. He told me that when he got to Clemson from New York, Ashley Shepard was just about the scariest guy he had ever encountered on a football field.
