Tee Martin lied for years by denying that he was paid while at Tennessee...until a former sportswriter in the Mobile area finally broke silence and admitted that for years he'd sent Martin money orders for hundreds of dollars every week via Western Union--money given him by a couple from the area. After the couple declined to name the individual who was giving them the money, the investigation ran into a brick wall because the couple didn't belong to the UTenn booster club and had no obvious connections to the school--except it was obvious they were being paid to get money to Martin.

After being confronted with the evidence of the wire transfers, Martin finally admitted to receiving the thousands of dollars total.

Then, of course, UT named a street after him.

I wasnt aware of this but I assume this practice of giving walking around money is the rule and not the exception.

I am always surprised when I hear star players aren't being paid.

Just to change where this is going and get back to comparing the two......Here's a fun fact I discovered when curiosity got the best of me.

Cole set Clemson record going 19/20, 95% vs SCState. Turns out it was the second best day EVER in NCAA history (min 20 attempts)

Who had a better day? Tee Martin. 23/24, 95.8%. I looked up cuz it hit me that if a QB had two incomplete passes, he'd have to go 38/40 just to tie the 95%

I hope they do mirror each other in wins!
