Not to sound big headed but

I just don't see Georgia hanging with us at all Aug 31st. They have 7 noobs on defense. Its unlucky for them that they will have to have their first game experience against one of the best if not the best offense in the nation. If you guys disagree with me, thats fine, and I respect your opinion.

I honestly don't know what to think anymore...

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 12:13 AM

I'm confident we can come out with a W...but there are a lot of unanswered questions with our offense...especially after the Spring game debacle...

Regardless of the score, I can see this being an extremely physical game...similar to the Auburn game their Championship year.

I'm also curious as to how the refs will handle the new targeting rule. Shuey can be hot headed at times...just hope he and the others don't take it too far and get yanked from the game...

I agree with everything your said, but the thing is about the spring game is that Tajh did not play, and I know we will be wayyy more pumped for the leg humpers game than the spring game...if we are not we deserve a "L" Lol

what debacle?***

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 12:31 AM

Injuries to our back up QB and starting TE.

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 12:34 AM

It's late and I'm using my words loosely...don't read too much into the word debacle...just unfortunate that we will not have Kelly or Cooper available come game day.

Re: Injuries to our back up QB and starting TE.

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 12:36 AM

When you wrote that the first time, we took it as if your said something like we played awful in the spring game.

No, just upset with the injuries...

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 12:45 AM

There is no one to blame...just a very unfortunate series of events. I think we have more than capable backups at the respective positions...but I'm a big advocate of depth, especially with this style offense...

Re: what debacle?***

I agree! The Spring game showed me we have a lot more quality depth at the positions we needed help with, and while TB didn't play, we have some pretty decent QB's on the roster that can look good with the talent we have coming back, not to mention the incoming talent, some of which will see much action. I see huge improvements in our tackling on defense, OL play and depth vs last year, etc. I do drink the Kool-Aid, but I see progress like we haven't seen since DF.

11 noobs on D

9 that started.

Don't forget about Georgia's Offense

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 1:21 AM

They have a ton of talent on that side of the ball too, and our defense is still questionable.

Re: UGA Loves Trick Plays When Desperate.

I'd hate to have a close conservative game called like with Auburn last fall and have another puntarooskie used against Clemson.

Remember, Richt was on the FSU staff over 20 years ago when it looked like Clemson had the game in hand. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Not to sound big headed but

i completely understand you being confident in winning but to state that UGA won't be able to "hang" with clemson is utterly close minded. Your offense will is replacing half it's players in key positions and i'm sorry but what is imposing about your defense that should worry us? Uga, led by quarterback Aaron Murray and running back Todd Gurley, returns almost everyone from a unit that ranked No. 1 in the nation last season in yards per play.

Agree, good response.***

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

They still have Murray, and an offense.
This game will be close thru out,but at home Clemson wins.
Just glad we don't have to go to Athens!

The difference in the game will be

Go Tigers!!

Re: Sammy will not be the difference in the game because:

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 9:11 AM

Everybody will be keying in on Sammy, they need to watch out for 6'5= Bryant and 6'3 Peake and if 6'6 TE Legget is ready by then it's not going to be pretty.. let's not forget Boyds ability to run and everybody forgets about Humphries and oh yeah G-HOP...boy boy boy if and I mean if, our offense is clicking by then. UGA will get tired fast. I havent even mentioned the Running backs. WE TOO DEEP!!!! but its going to interesting and a good game but it all depends on which team will be ready by kickoff. I hate that this is the 1st game of the season.

the difference in losing and winning. i heard he dropped a few in the spring game. you just never know. will we see sammy the freshman or sammy the sophomore? grantham will prepare his defense for the freshman version i'm sure.

I would expect Clemson to be a slight favorite.***

UGA's questions going into the season are the same as ours

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 8:45 AM

They have a solid offense with a ton of returning talent and experience.

We have a solid office with a ton of returning talent and experience.

They have a young defense with paper talent and little experience.

We have a young defense with paper talent and little experience.

This game will determine who develops responses to those issues first.

Re: UGA's questions going into the season are the same as ours

Our defense will show up because they have a point to prove to the world that the ACC is not weak..The same thing happened with LSU. Our defense played to prove a point. If UGA takes them lightly its going to be a long day for UGA..I'm not worried about our D-line and LBs its the secondary I question.

UGA taking a top ten team lightly and a top 20 program? DOubt it

UGA beating a top 10 team? Also unlikely.***

uga beat florida last year

True

Re: UGA beating a top 10 team? Also unlikely.***

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:04 AM

keep i mind that anytime a ACC team gets to play a SEC team, thats more motivation for the ACC team to prove themselves because of all the talks about how the ACC is weak and the SEC is the Powerhouse. Clemson wants respect bad and the NAACF knows it. Why else would they slap Clemson with UGA the first game of the season.

Florida wasn't as good as advertised, though***

offensively your correct but they had one of the better defenses in the nation last year. only one rb gain more than 100 yards against the gators last season......Todd Gurley.

i concur.

Re: I think you never know with opening games

D can be ahead of O at that stage. I believe we will win but it could be a nail biter.

im excited for this game, I cant wait to see the first freshman to start in the opener under todd grantham

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:00 AM

While I want to agree with us hammering the dawgs, I'm sticking with "The first team to 50 wins".

Anyone that doesn't think Murray is going to hang a lot of points on our D, just hasn't watched Murray play. They were ONE PLAY away from playing for the NC - and probably winning that game too.

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Vic Beasley will slow Murray down trust me

Re: Not to sound big headed but

how big is beasley now? will he and crawford man the DE positions?

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:28 AM

following beasley through spring practice man he is a beast now

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:31 AM

all we needed was leader on the D front its on now and keep an eye for Kellen Jones the transfer LB from Oklahoma
that followed Coach Venables he is a killer out there

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:38 AM

yep

I put my money on 3 names for this Season on Offense

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:56 AM

Martavis Bryant, Gemone Hopper (G-HOP) and if he is forced to play this year Jordan Leggett they will have a breakout year with Boyd in the pocket

The competition at Safety is about to get CRAZY

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:46 AM

We have 2 ATH Safety's on the way Kearse and TJ Green both of these guys are about 6'4 and running a 4.4 Forty can you imagine trying to overthrow these cats. Our starters have no choice but to step it up

Vic Beasley

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:17 AM

Who?

nothing wrong

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:39 AM

With being big headed

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 10:55 AM

The thing that worries me about UGA is their OFFENSE. If Marshall and Gurley can get traction, it will open up the play action, and Murray can and will burn us. I have no faith in our secondary until they prove themselves.

I fully expect our secondary to get torched on deep balls, unfortunately. I also think UGA will try to play "keep away" like USCe did in the 2nd half of our game last year. If our offense isn't on the field, they can't win it for us.

I think this game 100% depends on Clemson D matching up against the UGA O. If we can stuff them at the line of scrimmage and get pressure on the QB (Like we did against LSU), we can run away with the game. If we can't we may get beat by 2 TD's.

i think we be fine

Re: Not to sound big headed but

Posted: Apr 25, 2013 11:14 AM

True, hopefully Coach Mike Reed will bringit and get those boys on fire.. i always question, how is it that we have one of the best offenses in the league and our secondary is weak. You would think after running behind Sammy and Nuk that our secondary would be the Bomb.
