Inital rumors out of UCF.

1. Randy Shannon will be the interim HC. (Has been a successful DC at several schools. Unsuccessful HC at Miami. The logical guy on the staff to be interim.)
2. Hiring a new AD will take some time. Not a 3 day event like UT did with Danny White. Probably a month or so.
3. New AD will probably just keep Shannon as HC. Timing would be hard to hire a new coach and him hire a staff. Shannon may keep the label "interim" or not, but will proabably be given a 1 year contract.
Like I said, just knee jerk reactions from the local sports media in Orlando.

It would be nice to see Shannon get another chance. Might go better this time and this seems like a logial approach given the timing

Doesn't matter how good UCF and USF get. Bottom line neither G5 school will make the playoff. That's pretty clear now.

More, updated rumors.
Fact: Randy Shannon is interim HC.
Fact: Scott Carr (Deputy AD) is interim AD.
The rest are rumors:
Carr will be named AD. Top guy on his list for HC is Gus Malzahn. (Another Rumor said that he wlould go after Brian Johnson, UF assistant, but that was immediately squelched when it was posted that Johnson is headed to NFL as QB coach for Eagles.)
I see no one mentioning Elliott in any place I have searched.

Cool info to pass along. Thanks! Living in Tennessee, I occasionally lurk the Vawls message boards for entertainment when Clemson news is slow. Helps the conversation with my Vawl co-workers. I haven't joined any because I will be banned for mouthing off and I don't have anything constructive to say. Kudos to you for hanging with us peacefully.
