Very true but last year he had experienced guards and a solid experienced big man and did virtually nothing with that talent

They never got on the same page and there were times where

they were outright selfish, particularly Eli

We had a point guard who was playing on a bum knee, obviously he wasn’t the same player who the year before was playing on two good knees.

The health of Shelton Mitchell last season was a really big deal and I think the real reason that team disappointed. With a healthy Mitchell that team easily makes the tournament and probably does some damage once getting there. A lot of those close losses turn to wins if Mitchell is playing on 2 good knees. A lot of people underestimated his importance to that team and did not realize how injured he was playing all season.

Mitchell needed a backup last year....

I appreciated Mitchell gutting it out...but that should have been addressed in recruiting....got to have more than one PG who can play.
Playing the transfer market has its highs and lows.

We won 20 games and finished .500 in the ACC.

That's a good season by almost anyone's standards, and an excellent one for Clemson.

We were all disappointed not to make the NCAAs, but to say he did nothing with that talent last year is unfair. Let's not forget that Mitchell played on a bad knee all year. That was huge.

Doesn't this Chapel Hill win deserve an asterisk?

No asterisk for that win. They won at Chapel Hill in overtime. No need for an asterisk for any reason whatsoever.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why? They didn't use asterisks when they were loaded

Jan 12, 2020, 11:11 AM [ in reply to Re: In the last 3 seasons Brad Brownell has ]

with future Lottery picks and we couldn't make the NIT, what's the difference?

Lol. Considering the decades of cheating at UNC, I’d say the 59

Jan 12, 2020, 11:21 PM [ in reply to Re: In the last 3 seasons Brad Brownell has ]

is the number that needs the asterisk.
