In regards to last night's game....last year's team

Nov 22, 2018, 9:23 AM

also suffered an early season tournament loss to Temple in the Charleston Classic final.
After that, they did pretty well.

Positives from last night:

- Reed continues to be consistent. He is having a great season so far.
- Simms makes a big difference...part of the problem last night was that he got the dreaded 2 first half fouls and missed some of that time.
- Trapp is playing well off the bench. Has really improved his shot.

Things to work on:

- Identifying when one guy is working you for 36 points. Skara did better than others did on him....should have gone there sooner instead of later in the 2nd half. But we had no answer for him.
- New guys are doing OK....but lots of work to do there, multiple defensive switch lapses, etc. But I like their effort.
- We really need additional interior depth. It's discouraging to have 2 of our big guys unavailable. I really think we need one of them by the time conference play rolls around, or when Eli gets 2 fouls in the first half we will dig ourselves a hole in several games.
- We didn't shoot well from 3 last night....but that tends to even out over time.

Plus 19 turnovers did not help our cause

Not as strong at the foul line as we were last year. That can be fixed. Mitchell will also become more of a scorer as the season progresses.

we miss a really good "ball handler" guard, to bring the ball down court -- hope we progress as the season goes and improve on the turn-over issues** GO TIGERS !!!!!!!

Yes...turnovers were certainly a factor....

Hopefully they will cut down on those....many of those were ‘unforced’ yesterday.
Creighton’s D was not exactly a juggernaut...but on the third day of a tourney, I guess we lost a little focus
