Hillary's Tax Plan

Jul 26, 2015, 8:32 AM

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/421605/hillary-clinton-capital-gains

The worst sectors of the worst recovery since World War II are business investment in new plants and equipment and new business start-ups.

These are the biggest job-creators, and their slump is a key reason for the sub-par labor recovery, with low participation rates and high numbers of involuntary part-time workers.

So if investment is the problem, what does Hillary Clinton go out and do? She proposes jacking up the tax on investment.

How powerful is the capital-gains tax? The non-partisan Tax Foundation rates it among the top three economic-growth influences on the economy,

Democrats - they just can't help themselves.

And you're too blind to see it... Screw Billary and her WS

Jul 26, 2015, 3:48 PM

Banksters but don't think investment in US jobs has anything to do with capital-gains taxing. Most of the off-shored industries have kept their profits off-shore and never got taxed... Of course, that also diminishes the on-shore tax base considering the loss of jobs, both production and construction, not to mention the ancillary industries of supply and implementation. Hit Billary some more... I TOTALLY agree. But the problem is the financial rape by the "financial class" that's occurred since deregulation and government privatization. K Street law firms, with all their revolving-door government insiders, have lobbied and rewritten the tax laws to accommodate the corporate oligarchy that currently exists and all the while, Wall Street continues the 'Reaping'.....

are you involved in running a business or do you have personal dealings at all with these kind of topics.

Just curious for context.

to 30 years, some up...some down. However, I have had both personal employees and sub-contractors throughout. To be fair, I don't currently have a dog in the fight. I'm speaking from observations, both locally and nationally, during those 30 years. Been there. Done it. I see how things continue to change and options continue to diminish for many while the 'elite' continue to buy politicians and reap the rewards of our former democracy that's currently an oligarchy.

Our current tax scheme with the highest rates in the world incent keeping money and operations offshore. Washington is for sale and it costs a ton to make the payments.

As for wall street, Dodd Frank killed good US business with tens of thousands of good jobs in areas that had nothing to do with the crash. When guys like you speak bitterly of "Wall Street" it is sad because you clearly do not understand all of what that means. That being said, the mortgage thing was stupid and more bankrupsies shouldhave been allowed to happen. The greed, though started with the home buyer who bit off more than he coukd chew knowing that he could toss the bank the keys with little penalty.

I'm just wondering what business experience you have with the matters being discussed. I help run a business with about 100 employees here, that is HQd in Germany with about 1200 folks worldwide. Kind of a big small business.

My experiences have certainly led my to me to opinions.

When you tax capital, you get less of it. Less capital

Jul 26, 2015, 5:49 PM

means less investment, which means less jobs.

But liberals blow this economic fact off like it was a fairy tale, because it gets in the way of what they want to believe.

the 'mantra' since Reagan. Granted, there have been several successful tech/info/net type businesses arise since then, but the industrial base of the country has been all but decimated and the infrastructure with it. When you travel by limo, chopper, or yacht it doesn't matter as much. Besides, with 2 or 3 houses stateside and a couple international, why worry about the roads...?

since they have been fortunate enough to have lived in a country that since it's inception frowned on the notion of sucking on the government t## as a way of life, few have experienced the harsh realities of socialism. Sort of like how conservatives want laws that impose on other's rights (i.e. marriage) but don't want their liberties to be touched (i.e. guns).
