In all honesty

Oct 20, 2019, 10:37 PM

The AP poll hasn't been relevant in like 20 years. Nothing to do with the playoff and was even taken out of the BCS formula towards the end of it's existence. Nobody cares what a bunch of writers whose main job is to pump up the teams and conferences they cover. Writers have one job and one job only, to cause controversy and give people something to talk about. That's the only way the Finebaums and Klatts of the world stay relevant.

This is quite true. The product of a journalist now is not to give you the straight dope. It is interesting to see the “treatment” of our program and goes to show how quickly tides change in the national narrative. One second we are acclaimed as “Who will EVER challenge mighty Clemson?” And a couple average games later and we have such garbage articles coming out as the one I saw last night on Yahoo Sports.

It’s actually just really sad the level of disconnect from the industry of journalism and the actual activity of playing football and coaching it. Dabo clearly resents it and openly expresses his disdain for it, which is one of the qualities I love about him. He sees through the smoke screen because he is REAL and people like Finebaum make their money off controversy and false journalism. It’s just sad.
