Baylor can "zero in" all they like.

Unless The Chad is insane, he'll stay away from that poisoned program.

They're already 2 recruiting classes short - they lost most of last year's class when Briles was fired and The Unpleasantness began, and the "interim" staff under Grobe has just two commitments on board this year, though I suspect they're still cashing their paychecks, which doesn't quite square - and there's a heap of legal, NCAA, and maybe even Title IX trouble coming.

It's going to be a long time sorting out that mess and whoever comes in is going to have one of the most thankless jobs in college football.

The Chad really needs to wait for A&M to open before he makes his next move. I wouldn't touch Baylor with a fork right now if I were him.

Personally, I'd like to see Chad give more respect to SMU

Nov 22, 2016, 1:39 PM

... since they took a chance on him and he still has a LOT to prove for that commitment.

I know it's a business, but I despise coaches looking for new jobs when they haven't come close to completing the one they've got.

Old school (old fart) attitude, I realize. So sue me.

I'm not sure, long term, if that would be the best move for

him.

SMU, despite their conference, has some great resources and the program can be grown.

Baylor has a stigmata that will follow it for the next 2-3 years. Baylor also is maxed out as far as potential goes. I think it could become a trap for the next coach.

I'm not one of those spell check or grammar enthusiasts on boards, but stigmata is much different than stigma.

Just an FYI for conversational use.

Ha. I got auto-corrected. Did not realize that.***

Mistake for Chad imo...

Baylor is a dumpster fire and the administration can't even get out of its own way.

I know it's a dream job for him. I'm just afraid for him it could wind up being a nightmare.
