I advise stay away from downtown. I have been there. It is nothing but Scientologists and a very weird feel to it. It's their " spiritual" headquarters. They try to rope you into taking personality tests.
Clearwater Beach is awesome but downtown Clearwater not so much. Just FYI

I don't recommend going to Bath, Burnettown, Langley, Gloverville, Warrenville, Graniteville, or Vaucluse, either.

Google it. It is a fantastic whole in the wall food joint. The original served Grouper 50 different ways and beer. I loved it when my parents lived there 25+ years ago.
