If you could change one play vs Alabama ... which one??

Jan 16, 2016, 8:30 PM

What single play, if reversed would be most likely to change the outcome in Clemson's favor?

In a 5-point loss, certainly there had to be many.

Which play would you most like to change?

onside kick. call fair catch. short field. TD.

Jan 16, 2016, 8:33 PM

but another good one was that long pass to set up the Alabama field goal right before the onside kick, Boulware was almost there. Sack there and make them punt. We had the lead. Their D was already gassed. We were ready to roll.

Gotta be in position to make a fair catch. We weren't

in the correct zip code. Gotta have better coaching in that situation. If you look at all of bamas ko it was there whenever they wanted it.

the tremendous breakup in the endzone against Scott.

It was a perfect td pass and reception otherwise.

Other than the obvious, the interception was a Ray Ray TD except it was intercepted of course

The interception before the half. If the pass is caught then it would have resulted more points and we are in prime shape for the second half. I had a bad feeling when it happened.

Missed tackle at the end. Make that tackle and we win.

Watson's interception. We were on a roll till that happened.

Watson's pick. Score and it's 21-7. The pressure is too

Onside kick. Check out these articles, Saban done a lot of scheming to win the game, and the onside kick was in his plan before the actual game. He knew he couldn't out power us, or out talent us to win.

Unfortunately, you can't change any,so why torture yourself reliving
what you can't change.
What happened happened.Live with it,and hope next season you
correct what went wrong this season.

Scott TD... difficult decision though, so many that could have been changed.

Re: If you could change one play vs Alabama ... which one??

Jan 16, 2016, 10:37 PM

Make the tackle on 3rd down vs their TE late in game. I think we would have had the ball with shorter field and time to go win with a TD. Would have loved to have won despite blown coverages, an onside kick and kick return for TD.

That would have been wonderful. Trip and keep getting up.

Henry's last TD, the one that took like two minutes to call. Ben was close to getting the ball out. I was yelling at the TV take the ball and run Ben. I wanted to do to Bama what WV did to us a few years ago, d@mn that would have been awesome. Go Tigers!

Re: If you could change one play vs Alabama ... which one??

Jan 17, 2016, 1:43 AM

I said if I was Saban, and Henry had been stopped there, I would have gone for it on 4th. Would have challenged us much more to drive the field from the 1 inch line. I would have been so proud of our Tigers to get the stop there but it pretty much worked in our favor that they scored (granted a FG would have been better than the TD) and we got the balled kicked off to us. Completely changes the playbook from the 20-25 as opposed to the 1 inch line.

I'd say, the play that gives your team the lead with no time left on the clock.

I thought their on-sides kick was THE game changer ...

Jan 17, 2016, 3:22 PM

There were many key plays, any of which might have changed the outcome, but their successful on-sides kick was the biggest one by far.

If we recover that kick on our own 40, it is a potential 14 point turnaround.

At the very least least it denies them the TD they scored and that's all we needed in a 5-point loss.

Re: If you could change one play vs Alabama ... which one??

Jan 17, 2016, 3:42 PM

Adrian Baker missing that tackle on 2nd and 13 was huge... If Ben could've got that sack on Coker instead of him completing a freaking lucky pass would've helped a lot too.. And obviously DW missing Renfrow!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

2nd play of the game...

Jan 17, 2016, 3:45 PM

Take away Shaq offsides when Boulware blew up the play for a TFL. Then its 3&16 and we get the ball at midfield and set the tone of you're about to get you're #### kicked nice and early. Then get out to an early lead and never let them get going. Game Over.
