Gotta say Nuk! He's a QB's best friend, catches everything thrown in his zip code, and he'd be able to stretch the field for us. I wouldn't mind seeing a new walk on named Huk Nopkins out there this week.

That being said, I sure do miss watching Simmons fly around.

Is this even a question? Simmons is undisputedly the right answer. Wide receiver is not Clemson's biggest issue on offense this year (that's the line). I feel good about Clemson's receivers when healthy, especially if the running game can get going and the play-calling is more than screen after screen. It's also weird you chose Hopkins. He's killed it in the NFL, but I don't know that he took over games more in college than many of Clemson's other receivers. He was great, but I'd put Sammy over him, maybe Mike and Tee too. Simmons's last year was absolutely amazing. I would say last year's defense was the worst since 2014 in overall talent. Venables was able to hide that (until LSU) because Simmons could change the game no matter where he was slotted in the field. Clemson has had some incredible defensive talent (Gaines, Vic, Christian, Dex, Clelin, etc.), but I think Simmons might have ended up Clemson's most dominant defensive player of all time. And with a depleted defense, I'll take Simmons every single time.

Not a comment on their ability, but our immediate needs.

No question it's Simmons.
