Watson vs Thompson

Who do you think is better at this point in their careers? I've seen a lot of posts comparing Stoudt and Thompson and I hate to say it but Thompson is obviously better. Would you take a less than 100% Watson over Thompson?

Is this a question? Healthy Watson is way better. Doesn't throw as many interceptions and he has that swagger that Thompson just doesn't have

Lets back it up with all of watson's big wins, oh shoot nm... Yes DW is better, probably- but you'd have to compare most of his HS ball to have enough games

I agree… DW looks like the real deal. I just haven't seen him come through for the Tigers yet in a big way.

Thompson isn't even qualified to give Watson signals from the sideline...
Not even close...

Yes I would. Watson is a star in the making and offers way more as a playmaker compared to Thompson. And this kid is only a FRESHMAN. He's going to be scary good by the time he heads to the NFL.

I think a lot of you missed the point of my question- I said "at this point in their careers." I don't doubt for one second that Watson has the makings of an elite NFL quarterback. His ceiling is much higher.

If I had to pick a QB for one game with my life on the line...I take a healthy Watson every time.
Sure Dylan has more CAREER wins. I sat threw that debacle in 2012. But Watson is better

QB passing rating... He, in my opinion, brings a much broader skill set to the table than Thompson. Imagining what this kid is going to do in the future is scarey crazy...

OK, simple question that will answer a dumb coot-like question...what's the highest QBR either have achieved in their college careers so far? That should tell you your answer. Now good night.

that Tajh Boyd was a better qb than Thompson but it didn't seem to matter in 2012. We just have to play better than them.

absolutely ball. couple that with the front 7 that is more than capable of getting pressure on most passing plays from 1 player or another (sometimes more), and i don't think dylan will have near the game at the valley as he did his last trip here.

I'd take a true freshman Kelly Bryant over that dude

I don't care what Tompsun's numbers are. Easy to attain passing numbers when you're attempting to come back in the fourth after giving up a huge lead; and the opposition is running a prevent D.

I agree. People just get excited when those kinds of numbers are put up in the $EC. The "greatest conference ever"…

Just the threat of his ability to run the option read extremely well, his accuracy and velocity on the deep pass and quickness to decided to run with that lightening fast first step is enough to worry a DC sleepless.
I'd say point production is about equal if Cole is 'feeling it,' and DW is 45%.
Sorry Cole, I hope you prove me wrong when you get to play cleanup in the 4th quarter.

Not even sure DW should even play in this game. May not be worth it. As for the original question, I think Thompson is better but Watson has more upside unless he is one of those players who is going to be hurt all the time. The knee bothers me.
