be screwed(by some conferences, I mean us)
1. SEC
2. PAC 12
3. B10
4. B12
Big East and ACC aren't in the top 4 conferences(hopefully that changes).
Put the best 4 teams on the field.
If they change to a 16 team playoff, then I'd support conference champions getting a berth.

It will be:
1. SEC
2. SEC
3. Some other conference
4. Some other conference
Reportedly, they've removed the requirement that you have to be a conference champion to be in the 4-team playoff.

It'd have to be min 8 team playoff but I'd rather have the top 8 imo.

The BCS ranking are generally reflective of who the four best teams are. I say just take the top four and let the chips fall where they may.

12 games = 6 conference champions; 6 at-large bids.
Then just play it like they do in the NFL, with the seeds determined by the BCS.
It would take 4 games for at-large teams to win the NC, so this would never happen. That would be like 17 games in a season.

that is not going to happen. They'll probably just take the top four teams in the BCS rankings which, as we have seen in the past, is fundamentally flawed by media bias and influence. However, over time, as the play-off format is hopefully expansded, you may see this happen.

Let's just get a playoff system in place first. 4 teams will do to start. Then we can argue for expansion later. Heck, the other divisions have what? - a 28 team playoff or something.?

Keep all the regular bowls. The major BCS bowls (with or without the fifth game) become the playoff games/venues. Traditional sponsorships can remain in place, but games lose the ability to choose teams. 6 AQ conference champs + 4 at large teams round out the playoff system. Highest ranked two teams get a first round bye.

You do realize that round one would have 10 teams, round 2 would have 6 teams, and round 3 would have 3 teams....

That wasn't what was said above.
You have ten teams with 1 and 2 getting byes.
After the first round you have the 4 winners and the two teams with byes. You can't have six teams after the first round.
I am just assuming you two didn't actually attend Clemson...as one can't do math and the other has trouble reading.

but they WON't so the SEC can have 2 of the 4
that is what is gonna happen
There will not be automatic berths - they won't even require the 4 to be the conference champ
it will be just the Polls which suck
