Several times over the past year or so I've received a call from DirecTV where they tell you your service is being upgraded to add premium channels (HBO, Showtime, etc).
Each time they call, I ask them if it's free, and they don't really answer the question, then I tell them I'm not interested.
This has happened 4, maybe 5 times. Just got our bill and it was $70 higher due to the "upgraded service". They show no record of these calls or any record of us requesting changes to our account.
I'd like to make a suggestion, if you'll allow me...

Have you given any serious consideration to gifting all of your television sets to charity and then going out to get a FREE library card? Because, that would be my suggestion.
