Thankfully your opinion does not matter. I would rather watch Texas, Duke, or FSU play football than have zero football on.

It may not be but it is good for some teams to have the extra practice and build towards next year. Espn makes money from the games and I enjoy watching them. I don't think most 6-6 teams look at it as an accomplishment they look at it as an opportunity to end the year on a high note and start momentum towards next year.

I think there should be at most 12 bowls. Two or three teams at most from each conference. Bowls should actually mean something.

If I remember correctly, the ACC had to ante up a pretty large sum to buy our way into the Humanitarian Bowl a few years ago.
Considering that, isn't it more likely that participating in a 3rd tier bowl actually costs the school money rather than generating revenue?
... and does NYC really need the money brought to town by the 10-15K fans who were freezing their butts off in the stands for The Pinstripe Bowl?

I am talking advertising revenue, not just ticket sales. If people were not making money on these games, they would not bother airing them.

wanted to buy ad time for the bowl, I'm in.
Hopefully we never ever ever see 6-6, so it's a non-issue.
