ESPN: "Louisville is better than Clemson"

I would play them again on the field of their choosing

Nov 2, 2016, 12:48 PM

five times with this year's teams and expect to win at least four.

Clemson mistakes kept that game close. It had little to do with Louisville.

Next year might be a different story but this is still this year.

I completely agree!

I dont. We would not lose 1 out of 5 to those guys. We win everytime! DW is a winner!

I'm not sure he even read the article.***

Exactly my thoughts

The definition of awesome!

Yopu left off the ? mark

Nov 2, 2016, 12:51 PM

Read the article, not the headline. The article states that all metrics pointed to UofL being better and pivots to the ACC coaches(those that know) saying Clemson was the better team and DW4 was a big part of the reason.

Seems like the groundwork is being laid for UofL love to wane and Jackson Heisman lock to be loosened ?

Clemson was "better than Bama" in the Natty

Crown us.

Result on the field is all that matters.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The truth be told:!

Nov 2, 2016, 12:53 PM

UL is just one more Clemson turnover away from a definite victory.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsontiger1988-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Or one LESS Clemson turnover away from an easy Clemson

Nov 2, 2016, 1:48 PM

win.

Good article, but I think you may have 'sensationalized' your subject line just a tad. While there were a few statements to that effect, there were just as many to the contrary.

However, if you aspire to become a 'talking head' and/or host a talk show, then you are on the path to success!

Re: ESPN: "Louisville is better than Clemson"

Nov 2, 2016, 12:59 PM

After watching them vs Duke and UVA they are not that good .
Heck we played a good half and should have been up 35-10 then we gave them 5 turnovers.
In other words we play a clean game on any field we beat them by 14-21 9 out of 10 times.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: ESPN: Last Sentence Conclusion

Nov 2, 2016, 1:01 PM

But coaches for now are in agreement that Clemson is better than Louisville.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Come on. That's not what the article says.

Nov 2, 2016, 1:09 PM

If you are going to use quotations at least quote something that was actually written. What "ESPN" (actually just Jared Shanker - believe it or not ESPN is not some hive mind) actually does is just pose the question, "Is Louisville better than Clemson?" and then provide the opinions of various professionals.

I know everyone loves to hate ESPN around here, but at least get the facts right first.

We are the best targets for media trolling.

Nov 2, 2016, 2:55 PM

We take the clickbait and run with it, repost it, etc. I'm guilty of it as well, but it's obvious we are being played.

Ha-ha. Nice job changing the title, which is "Is Louisville better than Clemson?" to try and fit your narrative. There isn't one part in that article that says Louisville is better than Clemson.

For realz. I had this high-pitched excited voice screaming sardonically: "It's a CONSPIRACY!!!" in my head when I read his headline...and then read the actual content of the article.

It was a question, not a statement, and the answer was largely "nope, they're not".

I still haven't seen this widespread media conspiracy against Clemson. With the exception of a few local hacks with agendas like Kornblut and the occasional puffed-up contrarian like Mark May or Rick Neuheisel, the media generally seem overwhelmingly positive on Clemson.

Well, one dude on ESPN anyway.

Nov 2, 2016, 1:31 PM

Most people at ESPN would pick Clemson in a rematch.

Nov 2, 2016, 2:33 PM

If you were betting the house on the game, who do you think wins? I didn't say covering a spread, but winning the game. I would take Clemson every time this year.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It doesn't matter bc we have already beaten them.

Nov 2, 2016, 2:36 PM

Thats why this is absurd.

hey, what if duke or virginia had to play louisville

Nov 2, 2016, 2:52 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The "high-low" from the most recent Coach's Poll...

Nov 2, 2016, 2:57 PM

...doesn't agree.

Clemson 2-3
Lousyville 4-23

The point totals and the high-low suggest Michigan and Clemson are close not Lousyville and Clemson.

Nov 2, 2016, 3:35 PM

we do, hence why we stopped them short

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: ESPN: "Louisville is better than Clemson"

Nov 2, 2016, 4:22 PM

Then I think we should be #1 in the playoff rankings because we almost beat Alabama. That makes us better than Alabama, right? Almost beating them?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't know if the columnist came up with the headline

Nov 2, 2016, 5:05 PM

because the article never really comes out and asks the harsh question; instead, he cites a lot of unnamed assistant coaches who basically all agree Clemson is a slightly more complete team.....and the Tigers won the game by one score (despite 5 turnovers)

The headline is just a cheap teaser to entice a reader into a poorly-cited opinion piece....ya just don't know whose opinion the writer is conveying
