They are all giddy over a lower tier SEC / mediocre/ bottom dwelling class! Muscoot is best recruiter ever. Flipper flipped a Kentucky walk on. Ryan Hellnoiwon'tbeatclemsonski is the savior of gamecock football.. they say they have turned the corner with this class. It is really hilarious. Chris Clark and Wes Mitchell need to committed themselves for some of comments made on radio today.

The bad thing is that the ACC only has two teams that recruited better than Coots. That doesn't help the Conference as a whole. WTH happened to Miami recruiting this year?

They need more than that...
How many recruiting classes does it take to abolish 120 years of underachievement?
Worse, it just isn't recruiting a class, but they would have to DEVELOP the recruits... and they have never even considered that.

I've been trying to make that point for a few years now, but to no avail. It feels much better to say that the reason they sucked so bad in 2015 was because Spurrier slacked off in recruiting. Who cares about facts when it just feels so much better to base your reality on alternative facts?

But when you beat powerhouses like Coastal Carolina, Chattanooga and Akron to become bowl eligible you have to be good. Heck, that schedule was equal to 12 SEC teams and we know that is a tough task because they have reminded us on many, many, many occasions.

In 2014 Muschamp went 6-5 at Florida and got fired.
In 2018 Muschamp went 7-5 at U5C and got a raise and a contract extension.

But I don’t think the rise kicks in until the new contract starts. The way I read it the raise might be 2 to 4 years away. He did receive a 1 year extension but not an immediate raise in salary. I think only the OC received a contract extension and a raise to.

I think by turn the corner they mean have a .500/ winning season. No one is scared of them and I’m sure the two higher recruits they got today will be leaving the second they can.

These rankings are not the final verdict. It's true if South Carolina wants to be a program that competes for SEC championships, they'll have to do better, but they're not signing guys that look good because of stars but flake out. That was always the case with Spurrier.
The difference between a top 10 class and top 20 is not much and you all know that.

Is there that much of a difference to you? That could be because they have 19 commitments. I really don't know. Their average stars are high. There are so many factors considered, usually nothing related to intangibles. We'll see. Any SC fan not excited about the class just needs to lower expectations for the timebeing.

Haven't evaluated well enough to catch up to Clemson? You can evaluate as well as you want... that's hardly the problem. The problem is you can't get the vast majority of those recruits to come to your crap program. The evaluations at SCar right now are, "Oh look there's a great recruit, and he's signing with Clemson or Georgia."

It is pretty bad when Coach Morris at Arkansas out recruits a coach with supposed much more experience in only his first full class!! Muscrap comes across as such a great recruiter, but his staff development is clearly lacking to this point, especially compared to Clemson.
Morris has more promise long term because he knows how to recruit and evaluate while eventually developing a program. He has a more difficult task than Muscrap, but the SEC east is becoming tougher so it will be quite interesting to listen to GC fans over the next three seasons while they lose to more successful programs. Tanner may regret all his raises in the final result.
