I like the traditional approach like Dabo has brought back. But I will say I googled it like you suggest. The concept helmet that comes up with the purple trim, tiger paw in lower right corner, and says "empire" on the photo. Has purple Nike on the front. That helmet would be bad_$$. Don't care for the others. I'd be ok with it with orange jerseys as a one time deal.

Took a look at it. I think it's all cool because of the graphic design and maybe because it's a Speedflex helmet with a visor.
If for a onetime deal, I'd prefer a throwback over anything flashy. (If there's one, another will follow.)

That helmet would go better when we wear the purple jerseys for military day or whenever. I don't like the orange helmets with the purple jerseys. It just does not work together for me.

In general, I don't think orange goes well with purple. I'm not specialized in graphic or interior design, but that's my thought. Not saying we should go with white helmets though. I guess I'm conservative.

Let's not be like these teams that have no real identity.
They change uniforms in hopes of attracting recruits.
I think our uniforms are perfect the way they are, especially helmet.
