Who's For Tennis?

Jan 23, 2020, 2:02 PM

I'm not a big tennis fan. Sometimes when the big tournaments are being played, I check to see how the United States players are doing. Way back in the "dark ages" most of the tennis greats were from France, England, the United States or Australia. Now, it appears, most of the players come from Eastern Europe and other parts of the world, countries we've never heard of and cannot spell.

Last time I played tennis was a during a very hot, humid day on the island during my honeymoon.

After about 10 minutes of play at the request of my new bride, I informed her that I was done and that there were other things on my itinerary for our honeymoon if I wanted to be sweaty and exhausted.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Appears her upper body provides a good bit of torque for the follow through.

... tennis was huge in those days.

You literally couldn’t find an open court!

Now we have courts in our neighborhood that nobody ever uses.

But yes I am a massive tennis fan. I could write paragraphs about several thoughts about the current state of the game.

I play 2-3 times a week, weather permitting. I would play more, but the ol' body just cannot generate enough energy these days.

But I have to do something to stay active since FREEWEIGHTS are too easy.

Really enjoyed the 5 set match,Federer v/s Milman today although I wanted a different outcome. Weather permitting I play 3 times a week but only doubles these days now that I am in my 70's. I had to learn to trust a partner for doubles as singles was all I used to play.
