Saw a rule last night that said it does not. But being it didn't the Clemson player could have signaled for a fair catch and the ball could have been declared dead. Idk but I'm pretty sure that's the way I understood it

we got called for this earlier in this season, can not remember which game. After watching it again, it definately did not hit the ground. It would have rotated end over end forward, where as this one did not.

We had an onsides kick called back vs. USC last year

Jan 12, 2016, 7:52 AM

In that game, the ball went the required ten yards, but since it was all in the air and a Gamecock player was there to catch it, we were called for kick catch interference (don't think the returner needs to signal fair catch in that situation) because our player snatched the ball that was about to land in the opponent's hands.

In last night's game, we didn't have a player close enough to the ball to make it interference when the Tide player caught it.

It was Sakerlina last year. I remember distinctly because the Ol Ball Sac nodded his head knowingly when they awarded the ball to them and the announcers worshiped him. As if he knew the rule. BS.

BTW, the rule states the main thing is the ball must travel ten yards. It also says the ball must touch the ground.
