Charlotte to clemson

What's the best way to go to Clemson from Charlotte? For a noon game? I'm unfamiliar with some of the secondary roads or any tricks. This is for the South Carolina State game. I'll read up on where to park via other threads. Thanks

I NEVER see traffic and I go

77 north to 40 west to Asheville then 26 towards Spartanburg until you hit the SC border. From there take Hwy 11 West till you get to Walhalla, then take 28 over to 123 and on in to Clemson.
Go Tigers!

You don't see any traffic cause you're the only one that would take that route...around your ### to get to your elbow IMO. Its more scenic, but at 6 am i don't care about scenic.

Maybe next time specify "fastest rout"?

Everyone wants something for nothing. And it's a RIGHT NOW society. We'd all be better off it the OP would just send me $20 and then take the route I gave him.
Pretty soon folks are going to be kneeling in the stands for the National Anthem.

No real tricks. Leave Charlotte no later than 7...6 is better. Straight down 85. There are a few different ways you can come into town but depends on where you are parking. Leave early enough and it won't matter.

I usually take this rout:
Sep 9, 2016, 2:58 PM
|
|
I-85 South to Exit 35 (SC-86) then take Hwy 88 all the way into Pendleton. You'll eventually come out at the National Guard Armory at Hwy 76/Hwy 28.
From there, depends on where you decide to park.

Nothing special for this game

Just go down 85 to exit 19B and then up to Clemson. Don't worry about the "back roads" because for such a small game, and not being homecoming or the first game, the number of cars will be the lowest all season. Just come a little early. If you have a parking spot, great.. otherwise, I'd recommend buying a parking spot at one of the houses off the main street behind the Esso club and to the right. Good prices, good people and great location.

What I did was..
Sep 9, 2016, 3:18 PM
|

I bought a lot off of perimeter road and had a heli-pad built. It has a concrete bunker/shed underneath (for lack of a better term) in which I keep both a golf cart, bikes and a scooter.
I take the Sikorsky 76-D from the building around 9:00 AM and warm it up for about 20 minutes. I will then fly a loop around the foothills up around western tip of NC and down along the Cherokee Hwy. I come in form the south over the lake so that I can get a good look at the valley before landing on the heli-pad around 10:15 - 10:30.
I usually will have a bite catered out and then motor on in via a scooter or golf cart if I have a few guests.
After the game I am in the air within 10 minutes of the final clock and back home in less than an hour. The 76-D can fly over 155 knots but I usually keep it around 80-100 knots due to fuel consumption.
