Our next "sleeper" recruit could be Trevon Flowers. Here is his 247 profile:

We appear to be pursuing him rather heavily at safety. It is also possible that we have moved on from O'Neal and are focusing on Flowers now.

@colberttiger tagging you bc I know you asked about a sleeper recruit.

A little background info:
Trevon is a pretty good baseball prospect (SS) who committed to Kentucky over a handful of good programs (including Clemson, FSU and Louisville). He didn't play football in high school until his senior season. He also couldn't get recruited for football because he had already signed to play baseball with Kentucky. Kentucky has recently released him from that signature. Tennessee is also involved.

He is a solid prospect with above average speed. Runs a 4.29 home to first (above average for RH) and a 6.68 60yd dash. Probably around a 4.5 40yd time. Around 6'0" to 6'1" and 180lbs. He likes to hit and closes on runners like a soft in-field hit.

As an added bonus, our baseball team could get a free scholarship player from this as well.

Highlight tape shows him to be a great athlete with excellent balance (as one might expect ), but also an excellent form tackler who has great anticipation. I wouldn’t expect that from someone who played 1 year of HS football. If his speed is good, looks like a player.

I hope so. We're thin at the back end and safety recruiting this year has been a series of whiffs. Probably not a year one contributor though, so we'll still be thin there.
