I recall when they first flew F-111’s toward the latter part of Viet Nam and it was noted each plane cost $1M. Today, a million doesn’t even cover the cockpit!

I think the Blackbird was more impressive

It was commissioned in the 40's (began in 50's) by the CIA and flew over 2,200 MPH and had a detachable drone that flew just as fast. Can you imagine flying a drone that fast with 40's technology? Of course it wasn't actually completed until later, but the technology was commissioned in the late 40's. You'd better take your pictures fast, because it would be in another country in the blink of an eye. It was supposedly commissioned to take pictures in Russia and China.

Wrong platform... that was the SR71 not the B2 or F127 as mentioned later...

It's a flying Dorito chip! But, it is cool and sinister looking.

Love the sound of fighter jets. My son is in the Air Force - F-35 pilot.
