Any thoughts? Who will play? Who will redshirt? Will we not find out until Spring or Summer? TIA ...

I think Israel avoids a RS

He and Schuessler will compete for backup spot...nick has experience in his favor but tucker is far more talented
Wouldn't be surprised to see us add a transfer QB too

What I am understanding is that both of them are MOBILE though. After what we seen this year we can all see where That is a plus

Bryant has a higher ceiling and is far more raw. he needs time to develop. Israel has been starting QB for 4 years

I don't think we will add a transfer, who would want to come

here and expect playing time with DW, KB and TI here? KB is a near mirror image of DW so I would like to get a little space between them but he could come in and sub for him with no drop off in talent or have to change the playbook for him. Now I don't think KB is quite as good as DW but he does have all the tools.

And get separation from Deshaun class-wise. But Bryant is still the QB of the future

This is exactly what i was thinking. Bryant has way more raw talent that hasnt even been tapped into yet. Im sure he will redshirt to put on some weight and learn the system so he will have AT LEAST 2 years as the starting QB in Tiger Town.

TBD for sure. I think KB is a faster DW and very accurate throwing the short and intermediate throws. This will be fun to watch this spring.

I think #2 comes down to Bryant/Israel

I believe Bryant to be the better QB, but unless an injury happens I believe he will redshirt giving the job to Israel. I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring your in another David Olson type player to provide this group with someone who has experience in a college program, and can help the young guys prepare for a backup role.

If you watch Kelly Bryant's film, its hard not to see

A little bit of Deshaun Watson in him. With that being the case, i expect Bryant to RS, Schuessler to start out the season as the backup but as mid season approaches, i think Isreal Will take over the back up position. I also wouldn't be surprised to see us get a transfer just for security reasons. Anyone remember the QB we almost got in the 2012 class? He was a highly ranked QB but decided to go elsewhere because of DW and Chad Kelly

We play Wofford and App State the first two games. I think we redshirt NEITHER and whoever fairs better in 2015, the other redshirts. We have Cooper coming in in 2016. Such a problem. Keeping DW healthy is imperative. We proved we can win with him NOT running the ball 15 times a game. Sometimes being a threat is enough, and when he does DANG IT SLIDE!!!!!!!! lol, never thought Id say that.

we got used to Boyd running like a fullback but I like to
Jan 6, 2015, 7:12 AM

us the running B as more of a plan B when things aren't open downfield or when that huge hole 20 yard hole opens and it is very safe to pick up the chunk yardage before sliding. The QB doesn't have to be used as a RB for a running QB to be effective.

Exactly and Watson has been running this offense now for five years. I think this year was a learning year in seeing the speed of college football vice high school and he will learn to slide or run out of bounds quicker or simply throw it away.
