Most people on here were cheering when someone painted the Gamecocks field and those cabooses a few months ago. I think both sides need to take a step back.

Spray paint can be fixed in a day, a broken rock is broken forever.

Uh, no.

Tigerstripe777's was the post of the day. When it was vandalism to WB, everyone said "We just made it look better and it was funny." The vandalism to Howard's Rock is equally inexcusable and there is no "ours was less worse than yours" in this situation.

It's getting out of hand on both sides.

Spray paint is ABSOLUTELY not as bad as breaking something and taking the piece that was broken.

You can paint over paint and restore it to "just like new" condition. You cannot do that with the rock. It doesn't surprise me that you wouldn't understand that... you are a South Carolina fan after all.

So what you're saying is.... Spray painting

Posted: Jun 13, 2013 12:23 PM

the side of the National Archives building in DC is equivalent vandalism to ripping and stealing a piece of the Declaration of independence?

Are we honestly going to have a discussion of which

Posted: Jun 13, 2013 12:28 PM

act of pure vandalism somehow makes a fan base better than the other? Really?

Okay, you got me then.

Absolutely. Here's why: Facts.

[1]
Posted: Jun 13, 2013 1:02 PM

Fact #1: The vandalism to the cockabooses is fixable. (although I'm obviously not condoning it, and I am obviously embarrassed by whoever did it if they were in fact a tiger).

Fact #2: Our rock is not fixable. We will likely never see that piece again. It is gone forever. The rock will forever be further from its original shape.

/\/\This is obviously true. No logical person could argue.***

I disagree with the first part.

There were a lot on here that did not find it funny that idiots vandalized the cock-a-boose and the field. Just because some on Tnet did doesn't mean the rest of us felt that way.

It is getting out of hand. It's pathetic that this rivalry has even come to this.

I bet a tiger did not deface the field at USC and I doubt a Gamecock had anything to do with the Rock!

Both acts were wrong, but only one was permanent.

Permanent vandalism on a sacred tradition is worse than spray paint. You have to acknowledge that or you are being ridiculous.

Classless pics. Puts you right on par with whoever destroyed the rock. Why do you think Clemson will be more motivated for revenge then Carolina coinsidering they cant be happy with what happened at their stadium and they are at home.

I know I'm going to get called a "dirty coot" for this,

but before you compare injuries of players to Howard's Rock, how about wait until the culprit is found. Even as a diehard Gamecock fan, this type of BS upsets me. Just like what happened to the trees at Toomer's Corner. Did anyone ever stop and think it might not have been a football fan at all? Maybe someone who couldn't care less about Clemson, South Carolina or the rivalry. It's not surprising to see this type of post on this board, but it is sickening. Guess that is what you call "tater logic".

What would motivate a non football fan who couldn't

care less about Clemson, SC or the rivalry? That might be the stupidest thing I have read on any message board...
