Nope...but we could be looking at a 4.6-4.65 on the official time.
I don't think that will necessarily push people away from him though.

Regardless I still don't see why people obsess over the 40 time, and I know that it is a test of explosiveness and all that. Rarely ever will a player just run a straight line in a football game.
Especially with man coverage where the receiver is jammed at the line. Even on break away plays like Sammy had on some screens he is already moving so the 40 still isn't an accurate measure of how fast he would be moving when he catches the ball in space.
I'd be more interested in a drill they could do that would somehow measure explosiveness out of breaks and things like that.

measure of the player's break away ability. Basically, if they are in the open, can they take it all the way or will they get caught from behind or with average pursuit angles.
For players on D - it is really about the ability to run down the break away, which even there still is heavily affected by the ability to determine the proper pursuit angle.
The agility drill and 10yd, 20 yd splits are more applicable to everyone else.

I suppose you could argue it's useful for DBs because it could gauge how they can cover the deep ball.
If it's man-coverage and you're a corner who runs a 4.6 and you're lining up against a WR who runs a 4.4, odds are things will go bad on the deep ball.
This means corners will potentially have to play softer coverage, giving up easier short passes, or force DCs to always keep help over the top.

besides -- are you going to tell me a guy that is 185 pounds is not effected more than a guy who is 210 when they have 10 lbs of equipment on? never understood why the drills aren't in full pads. Bench is the only one that shouldn't be.
