He's pumped

Aug 15, 2013, 9:37 AM

Just "A" section? I can't remember.

They tore down my beloved "D" section. I has the sad :(

Still remember my days in that "tin can" D section....lol (and that it was...still remember the guys in the room beside my roommate and I talking to us through the thin metal wall ^_^). Ah the memories...

I lived in A Annex in 03-04, guys on top 2 floors, girls on bottom 2.

The CUBOT recently gave preliminary approval

to demolish hat remains of Johnstone (likely between 2015 and 2020).

The $98 million building plan calls for the demolition of the remainder of Johnstone, Harcombe Dining Hall and the university’s Edgar Brown Student Union.

With this, the Douthit Hills project, and the new Greek Village, the landscape of Clemson is really going to change dramatically over the next seven years.

think I realized it after moving into Clemson House (difference just between those two was interesting)...then full realization came once living off Isaqueena Trail in an apartment my senior year. But man, can't say I don't have some good stories from the stone....an all hall party bash, a late night campus wide blackout a few days prior to the FSU game and watching the formation of what became a huge student spirit march across the entire campus (which I joined just for fun)...feeling like I was in Joe's Apartment (which every time my wife and I see a cockroach nowadays, she says "there's one of your college dorm roomies"). lol.

and it definitely needs a bit of a face lift, especially if the University is going to continue using it for another 3 to 4 years until construction on the new housing complex on Johnstone Meadows is completed.

My friends and I had something to do with the destruction of the inside that last year. Turns out you can make 2 adjoining rooms a suit if you have a sledge hammer, booze, and motivation.

Make sure he enrolls in Hall Hockey 101. Each student must bring a broom, a flattened Budweiser can and no protective gear. Hall Supervisors supply the goals--two 55 gallon trash drums turned on their side.

Nothing like 40 players on a side swinging brooms

Shades of 1967.

Re: I moved by son into Johnstone yesterday

hahaha.... "40 players per side". Great stuff. I can only imagine the number of shinners being dished out in a game.

on my backswing, I accidently hit a guy in the mouth with the broom handle. I actually hit his tooth. To this day his front tooth is darker than all the others.

That would be A 9 for you novices.

Using a tin can for hockey?... much better to wet down the hall and use a bar of soap.

Spent Soph year on E-6. I almost remember that.

Johnstone D-418!!!

Aug 15, 2013, 10:45 AM

When I first walked in my dorm room in Aug 1987, it was a dump. After building a loft to get beds up, couch, carpet, small frig and a microwave, my roommate and I had a nice place. The community on our hall was great. Johnstone D4 hall is where I met my brothers and I love them dearly still today. You have friendships in highschool but those friendships you make in college are totally different. I wish I had gotton my door tag.
