Me too, those were our boys, giving it all they had, every play. Jim made you feel like you were there.

Loved Jim to death. But if they are going to honor him properly they will put a fully stocked bar in the booth. The man loved himself a cocktail.

Jim was hired by Frank Howard and called his first football

game in 1968, during my senior year; thus, my memories recall the earliest days of his long tenure at Clemson. Fast forward through the years until his death in 2003, and it's easier to understand why so many of us older Tigers revere him so much: we remember him from our days in school on up through our own middle age years. For those of us who knew him, we could always associate the voice with the face and personality.

I know time moves on and things change; but, to this day, if I miss a game and listen to a radio, I think, "Wish I could hear Jim calling the game!" I'm proud that Clemson is honoring him.
