New Conference Alignment??

Dec 7, 2013, 12:24 PM

On the Day of the ACCCG I propose the following divisons

Coastal
Clemson (GiT)
Miami (FSU)
Duke (WF)
UNC (NCST)
Pitt (Syracuse)
VaTech (BC)
UVA (Louisville)

Atlantic
FSU
WF
NCST
LOUISVILLE
BC
Syracuse
GiT

(@#%$^%&) = Cross division rivals

What say yall

Put UM in the Atlantic for someone***

I like the idea of new/old or north/south

Dec 7, 2013, 12:35 PM

New and Old divisions would have traditional ACC teams in one (Clemson, Duke, UNC, UVA, Wake, NCST, GT) and the newer schools in the other (FSU, VT, BC, Miami, Pitt, Cuse, UL).

North
Cuse
Pitt
BC
UL
VT
UVA
Wake

South
Clemson
GT
Duke
UM
UNC
NCST
FSU

Swap Wake and Maryland and that makes regional sense.

UM = Miami. Maryland is out of the ACC***

How about This?

Dec 7, 2013, 12:38 PM

Central:
Clemson (GA Tech)
UNC (Pitt)
NC State (Florida State)
Duke (Boston College)
Wake Forest (Syracuse)
VA Tech (Miami)
Virginia (Louisville)

North/South/West:
Florida State (NC State)
Miami (VA Tech)
GA Tech (Clemson)
Syracuse (Wake)
Pitt (UNC)
Boston College (Duke)
Louisville (Virginia)

Not sure I like us not playing FSU every year, but if goal of realignment is to separate FSU/Clemson and provide balance, I think this would be fairly balanced.

Tier 1 Teams:
Clemson/VA Tech & FSU/Miami

Tier 2 Teams:
NC State/UNC/Virginia & Louisville/GA Tech/Pitt

Tier 3 Teams:
Wake/Duke & Syracuse/BC

Let's strap it on and play the best regular season possible.

Dec 7, 2013, 12:52 PM

Premier Division:
FSU
Clemson
Louisville
Va. Tech
Ga. Tech
Miami
UNC

Champions Division:
Pitt
Syracuse
Wake
Duke
NC State
BC
UVA

This idea of splitting FSU and Clemson in order to try and manufacture one big game a year in the conference (ACCCG) has already proven itself to be a failure (think FSU / Miami dream of early division planners). Let's have big games through the season where nobody can question the record of our Premier division champion, perhaps even a Premier division runner-up when it comes to choosing the top 4.

Swap out the best and worst from each division every two years. Keep the ACCCG a game between each division champ to ensure every team can win the league title every year.

Better football, and a stronger national brand.

I would prefer to see new divisions created every season based on performance.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How about the two best ACC records play for the championship.***

Fluid divisions would be the best way to accomplish that.

Will never have north vs south divisions, so x that out. Best 2 records should play but that opens up back to back vs same opponent 2 weeks in a row problem. If they split then what?

Look at those divisions and just really ponder them for a minute. And now realize how embarrassing it is for folks here to talk about the sec least.

Those divisions look like something in between the socon and cusa.

Well

Dec 7, 2013, 2:17 PM

Let's see, wake a 2 win acc team is = vandy who was 4-4 in sec. The acc is not better than the sec because of money, stadiums, enrollment, etc. However the acc is not as bad of a conference as it's made out to be.

If FSU wins the national championship this year does that mean that the ACC is the elite college football conference?
