Your response was actually "cootish"
No where did I offer an excuse. It will effect both teams and could ruin what could be an incredible game when huge sections of turf come up.
Remember when they had to stop the game and repair the field.... at the goal line no less.

I have no confidence that they got it right. The turf that was previously replaced at Levi Stadium was a Bermudagrass called Bandera supplied by West Coast Turf (people that I know very well). Only in recent years has the "Bermuda line" , in which Bermudagrass will thrive, has started moving further north in California. Traditionally, northern California has used more Bluegrass, Fescue, and Ryegrass .... all cool season turfs. Now because Bermuda is more drought tolerant, requiring less water, it is becoming more popular in northern Cal. If they use Bermuda this time, it is likely to be dormant or semi-dormant (West Coast Turf has sod farms in the desert of Sou. Cal. so it may not be completely dormant, or it could be overseeded with Ryegrass). Regardless, there is no time for it to root, nor do they expect it to root, so footing will possibly just be a crap shoot.

Why didn’t the 49ers abandoned the grass field several years ago? Michigan stadium had all kinds of issues after they renovated and put back in grass. Eventually they gave up and went back to the newer artificial turf technology.

Why didn’t the 49ers abandoned the grass field several years ago? Michigan stadium had all kinds of issues after they renovated and put back in grass. Eventually they gave up and went back to the newer artificial turf technology.

Seems to make sense in transition zones where one type of grass is not dominant.
