Unfortunately, without that SEC money Clemson will never be able to keep up. We should consider moving to the AAC so we can remain competitive.

Yes it does. I was referring to BV. I just asked the question out of curiosity. Is this a year that he deserves a 200 to 300K raise? It's impossible to say he underachieved with the defense he was working with this year and what he managed to do with it but realistically speaking was this a huge raise kind of year?

LSU scored 42 on Venables, so I think Steele is probably 45% better as a DC at this present time.

Lets see how steele does if he ever loses his defensive line to the NFL with 3 of those players being drafted in the 1st round, then come back the next season and try to field a top 10 defence the next season. My personal belief is that BV is the best DC in this country, and he should be labeled in the college FB world as the best DC without $$$$ being connected to that Determination!!!

Aranda at LSU was higher than Venables after his latest renegotiation.
When he left to become a head coach after the national championship, Venables became the highest paid DC for about a week until Steele got his bump in pay.

Obviously you have never had to live on 2.2 mil. A yr. It's dang tuff. A million just ain't what it used to be.
Come on Clemson, time to shed that tight wad image and pony up a raise. Do we really want those yahoos in Alabama making us look like we are on ACC welfare and have our coaches barely eeking out a living.
