It's a brilliant concept. Throw one of your best single inning pitchers against your opponent's best hitters.

The statistics show that a third look at a pitcher is the one the hitter has the best average.

Eliminating a third look at a 'starter' for the opponent's best three hitters is a massive advantage based on statistics.

I hope Monte Lee is aware of the trend.

Didn't work too well for the Brewers.

The Brewers announced a lefty starter to get the left-handed bats for LA out of the starting lineup

Brilliance by Craig Counsell!

It didn't work out, but it was a brilliant and innovative idea.

Every team in America would be on board of flipping a lineup based on announcing one pitcher and bringing in another with a different throwing arm.

I thought it was one of the best moves I've ever seen.

Instead of pitching into the 7th, the long arm pitches into the 8th.***

Dude of course that’s a great idea, especially for the college game.
So many baseball guys are unwilling to change or innovate. Billy Bean ideas weren’t accepted for years. Stagnant minds

He did it last year. Much better and experienced BP though. He has a few guys back there that can get outs but not quite where he was in 2018 and he admits that. Also, tried to get 5 out of starters then as well but was fine pulling and going to pen early. This season will be interesting to see how the pitching responds. I am looking forward to watching some games from the Cheap Seats.
