I have seen several pieces where evaluators compare

Trevor Lawrence to Peyton Manning. I don't get this comparison at all. Manning was never known as having a rocket arm, and he for sure could never run a lick. He was more of a cerebral vs brute skills kind of QB. What am I missing?

Yeah, I see your point. Frankly, I can't recall a lot of detail regarding, but seem to remember that he was a heck of a passer, but also that he had a tremendous sense of the game. It seemed like all he could do was win. Didn't he set records at the U. of Tennessee? Comparing him to Trevor Lawrence, I would say that Trevor is by far the more talented QB, considering passing ability as well as running skill. I've said before That TL will very likely turn out to be the greatest QB to ever play at Clemson, and I stand by that opinion. He will likely be our first Heisman winner.

I think it's only because Lawrence has said that Manning is his idol. Manning is the reason why Lawrence wears #16.

Those that lean to bammer use the PM analogy because he apparently did not play well against bammer. They hope for the same from TL.

The article I read from Scout talked about Manning being TLs hero and why he wears #16. It also mentioned TL was more mobile and had a much stronger arm. The NFL thinks TL is more talented right now.
