I don't understand that...see fumbles after forward prog...

All the time...

I thought there were two types of forward progress. One being such as a guy catching the ball at a point running back toward the line and it being spotted no worst than where he caught it but ball is still technically 'live' and can and has been fumbled before in those situations.

And the other being where a guy is stood up in a mostly immovable pile and they blow it dead in that case to prevent injuries. In that case, could be no fumble after whistle.

Right?

Yeah didn't help that the ref that called it only had the view of the ND player's back throughout that sequence as well.

the play, if it was forward progress it was only done in the head of an official. It was never actually indicated on the field.

Terrible officiating. I mean the play was live as could be.. the play was no where close to the over with.
