Are you serious, Clark?

Dec 9, 2019, 1:05 PM

Clemson is in God's country, he gives us purple and orange sunsets all the time, and he's never let the chickens even sniff a championship.

What more proof do you need!?

Sorry, but I prayed a LOT before - AND during - exams at Clemson. . . but studying always seemed to work out a lot better!

LOL - jk Cornflakes! Good luck to your boys on the exams! (... now THAT probably worked more in my favor, too, now that I think of it).

Can't remember which verse in the Bible but: The Lord helps those who help themselves.
Good luck to your boys!

I graduated in December of 1977 and it took..........

Dec 9, 2019, 1:04 PM

literally until just a few years ago when I stopped have bad dreams come exam time. I always had pretty much the same bad dream. I'd have one course that I hadn't been to since the first week of the semester - it was always a History class and for some reason was taught in the Clemson House! But then I was faced with cramming for the final exam in order to graduate. But I always woke up before the dream was over.

Yeah, exam time was no fun for me!!

Yep - 77 .... 66 here ... and I still have bad dreams about not going to class all semester and then can’t find the classroom the day of the exam .... like that would matter at that point .... lol

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

If you are serious, I’ll confess the same! I actually had the same recurring nightmare for years and still do on occasion. I took 24 hours my last semester (not because I wanted to) and one class was a repeat. I remember the professors name and what he looked liked even in the dream. I got to class right after the final started and it was my first time in the class the whole semester because I forgot it was on my class register. Not in the dream but the day before graduation I went to check that I was eligible to graduate just to make sure, lol!

Dead serious - Orange ... a real nightmare!! At least ....

Same. Graduated in 91. Dream that it's the end of the semester and I find out that there's one class I've been signed up for all semester that I never went to. I'm scrambling all over campus to find it to talk to the professor but can't for the life of me find the class. Eventually wake up before anything good or bad happens!

You might have done better to pray for them to study.

Dec 9, 2019, 3:04 PM

We reap what we sow. Sowing corn seeds and praying for tomatoes to grow never worked for me or anyone I know.

It's ok to pray they eat right, sleep well so they can do their best.

####, I'm glad to know this is "normal". My dreams change some but all have to do with finals or passing the one course i took 3 times.
Must be some type of PTSD.

LOL - I remember after final exams and I got home in G'ville, that I went straight to bed and literally slept for 24 hours. My mom was ready to take me to the hospital.

Good luck to your kids.

I used to have some really weird ones about not finding the classroom, late for test and prof wouldn't let me take it, etc. Thankfully it's been many years since those but I still remember the anxiety associated with them. Ugh! Maybe it really happened? That I even graduated is something of a miracle to me even now...maybe especially now.

years, I had the secure knowledge that if I did not pass, Viet Nam was a very real possibility as the next destination. Thank the Lord and Nixon, that hated war was over for us by the time I graduated.

ps,
This never got said by many at the time, which was WRONG, Thank You to all the (then) young men who did go to that hellhole and survived it, your service was, and is, appreciated by those of us who have lived long enough to see that, and all wars through the lens of history.
