if Duke loses that would give them two losses and Ga. Tech and Clemson would have 1 loss but we are ranked higher than Ga. Tech so we go.

this dumb playoff format doesnt work like that

it goes by record in pool and higher seeds. If 2 teams have the same record in a pool, the higher seed goes

Both schools would have 1 loss but GTech won head-to-head so they would go. Plain & simple, win to advance.

This is a round-robin tournament. If two teams are 2-1 then the higher seed (meaning us if Miami beats Duke) advances over Gt despite head-to-head. Otherwise, it wouldn't matter who won the Duke game since we beat both of them. If Duke wins, they will go instead of us because they are the higher seed.
