I don’t see the big issue with cable companies & ACC network

Why don’t they all get it then charge an extra fee to the homes that order it. Heck I’d pay an extra $10 a month for Comcast to carry it. I must be missing something. Maybe the ACC network or ESPN is forcing cable companies to carry it as part of their basic sports package.

I’ll give you an example of why all cable companies don’t offer the ACCNETWORK . I work for a company that provides cable service. The cost for us to be able to offer that channel is $1.58 per Subscriber per month. So, as a company you have the choice to a) add it to you current listing or b) include it in a package that you have to pay for. If you, as a company, chose option a). You pay the price per subscriber and it cuts into your profit. Option b) you hope and pray enough subscribers who don’t already have the package purchase it to at least break even. My company Decided not to offer it. Over time they should lower the price which will allow other smaller cable companies to purchase it.
