2020 has been a tough year. But what should sadden us the most

Aug 7, 2020, 10:49 PM

Is out of 330 million people, the best we can offer up is Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Praying for our country. Praying for my friends and family.......and being selfish praying for college football.

Go Tigers!!

but Trump as crazy as he can be (& good Pence as VP) does care about this country in his own way and has tried even after 3 1/2 years of a treason-type witch-hunt to make needed changes with the economy, armed forces, VA, manufacturing, border control, bringing billions of investment $ back to U.S., drug cartels, enforcing laws on the books, etc..

but the thought of the Liberal-leaning Dems aligned with Socialists/Marxists to get dementia-riddened Joe Biden elected with Susan “Benghazi-lying” Rice (or Socialist Kamala Harris) as VP scares me doubly more!

Trump cares about himself and lining his pockets. I’m surprised you haven’t figured this out yet.***

Amen. He lies daily, and is without a doubt the most

incompetent President in my 62 years on this earth. Many of my fellow Republicans not sitting on the hard right are embarrassed by two things; one, allowing him to be their candidate for President in 2016, and two how afraid most of the Republicans currently in office are afraid to disagree with anything Trump says, because he will find a way to retaliate, even on Republicans.

After all of that, the thing that is the most shocking to me is people treating him like a lifelong Republican, which he is not. He was a Democrat his whole life up until 2016.

I've voted for years and I agree. I think none of the above will probably get my vote.

What is even more sad is that 4 years ago all we had was Hillary vs Donald.
I'm old enough to remember that even Richard Nixon was better than either one of them.

You would think that the two people running for president would be the best of the best. It seems there is never a great choice. Maybe our expectations are too high. I am tired of Trump and it's getting pointless him just repeating everything like a broken record but never saying anything. Also I was upset by him increasing US debt (before Covid). I don't think it is in America's best interest to elect him another four years. I'll have to break and vote Biden just for the stability. He is more central leaning. If Rice is VP, I was behind the scenes during Benghazi and that's a non issue for me because I know what really went on that OP. Still you would think that we could find someone incredible out of 330 million people!

i’m curious as to what exactly you find problematic about joe biden. something real. not something that russia has been whispering to you through senator bob johnson, or the wonderful vichy enablers at fox news. it’s kind of like hillary clinton. “thank god i voted for the megalomaniacal moronic anti-christ, rather than the moderate methodist.” maybe it isn’t the candidates. maybe you just aren’t very discerning.

I can’t believe these pro-Biden posts. How could anyone be that stupid and support the dem’s anti-American values. Trump is not perfect but he’s a hell of a lot better than dementia Joe and lying Susan (who will continue to be Obama’s puppet.)

Trump is going to lose and lose badly. Many Republicans that

I understand that it's hard for some to step back and see the world through a nonpolitical lens, but completely taking political views out of it, I do believe Biden has a measure of humanity that the country could use right now. As someone who has lost someone close, I can't watch this video of Biden without seeing genuine empathy and genuine faith. I know that many will see this as a stupid or naive reason for voting for someone who I disagree with politically, but I believe the deepest problems we have right now aren't political at all.

https://www.mediaite.com/election-2020/watch-teary-eyed-joe-biden-gives-poignant-stirring-answer-about-faith-and-loss-to-pastor-whose-wife-was-killed-in-s-c-shooting/

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree with you. I vote for the person first, the politics second.

Aug 10, 2020, 6:17 PM

I align more with Trump and moderate republicans policy-wise, but I’ll be voting for Biden because Trump. If Biden was far left I’d have to really think about how I would vote, but overall I think he will be left leaning but not far left, and I can live with that over someone like Trump.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I agree with you. I vote for the person first, the politics second.

It's really sad you are going to vote for Biden and also vote for the far left wing, socialist and AOC-like policies that Biden will bring/allow.

I'm selling all my stock sometime between now and the election if it looks like Biden will win. The market will go down significantly and for a long time - years, maybe more if the combination of increased taxes, increased regulation, increased government-in-your-business during a pandemic totally wrecks the economy potentially into an irreversible state.

If this nation recedes to the global influence of Switzerland, it will be because the federal government got too big for too long. We may already be well on our way there.

Do you libs not see that your policies result in more big government? Do you all have any experience whatsoever in dealing/working with any branch of the federal government or military? The gov't does not have to make a profit. The gov't has no check and balance to ensure it provides quality services. Federal workers can tell you to f-off and get a promotion the next day. It's just sad that people cannot see the $hitty state of affairs with 95% of gov't run organizations and efforts. Gov't orgs compete with themselves; gov't employees build fiefdoms just because they can; no one wants to make a decision in the gov't for fear they not get their next promotion - so no decision, no progress is the default way to work.

Lt Col, thank you for your service! Trump was not my 1st choice for Pres but the only one I could vote for in the general election. I don't see how can you question the debt under Trump and possibly vote for Biden. HIS Party wants to add $3 Trillion to the debt right now and havent even begun with their campaign promises from the primarys. He will not be in charge if he wins. No matter how compassionate or moderate you may believe he is won't matter. He will be beholden to and at the mercy of Pelosi and Sanders (liberal radical wing) .

True words. Sadly, some people actually think Biden will be a great president, or that Trump actually is a great president. Both are horrific.

I don’t know much of anything about Biden’s policies.

I think disagree more with the concept of career politicians. It’s almost as if it’s “his turn” and that’s why he’s there. Then, he panders to the crowd by having a female person of color for VP.

None of these two scenarios seem to me to be the best qualified candidate from the party or for VP.

There has to be someone in the democrat party with a resume strong enough to be a great president and not just because it’s their turn.
