I was shopping yesterday, and walked passed

two guys, one wearing a Florida State shirt, the other wearing an Oklahoma Sooners shirt. I guess both programs have resorted to recruiting from the mall??
Anyways, I walked passed them wearing my Clemson gear, they both stared at me with a confused, almost saddened look on their face (at least the FSU guy).

However, if you wrote:
“The heroes walked past a village on their way towards the mountains.” It’s correct to use past. The verb in this sentence is “walked”, and the “past” is acting as an adverb.
Your 3rd grade teacher weeps for you if you truly don't know how to use these basic words.

Nothing, except maybe a torn condom, is more frustrating and even less useful than a sports forum/message board grammar patrolman. If you're that passionate about the perfect, eloquent usage of the English language you might seek employment in one of our poorly staffed and under funded elementary schools. I've always believed passion without action is nothing more than indifference. Go out, share your gifted brilliant with the world, not just a bunch of ignorant hicks on a message board.

College graduates that write like 4th graders.
I deal with it every day at work also. Pretty amazing how devolved we have become with the English language.

Thank you! People wonder why S. C. has a bad reputation. The lack of writing, spelling and language skills herein make Clemson grads look and sound like third grade students at times! Don't tell me that such is "cute" because I for one as a native am sick and tired of being looked down upon. I tutor at a local college and writing/expression has gotten much worse over the past decade! I teach as well and frankly wonder how some Clemson fans even got into college if what is posted here is a sample of their writing.
Nobody is perfect, but recognize what you post is a reflection of you and the institution you represent.
Go Tigers!

I don't think, if tried all day, I could find a more informal place where grammar would matter less than on a sports forum.

Has it ever occurred to some herein that you ever get a second chance to make good first impression.

Speaking of "perfect" grammar and " reading before posting," in spite of my education, I will assume you meant "you NEVER(not ever) get a second chance to make a first impression. If you're going to expect perfection, the least you can do is be perfect.

There are grammar errors in your reply. The English language is dead. I don't like being keenly aware of these errors. I wish they didn't bother me. I got kicked out of biology class in HS for asking the teacher if I could add back points for all of her misspelled words on a test. It was a smart a$$ question but valid nonetheless.

I was at Haywood Mall Saddity with the family...

I kinda recollect seeing those two but not sure.
One thing i did notice was the number of coots walking around, wearing sweatshirts or T's mostly covered up by jackets or vests. Saw a lot wearing caps turned around so you didn't see the logo until they were past. I was wearing a purple vest, a button-down plaid with purple design.
A lady said to me "You are a Clemson Fan, aren't you?"
I replied, "A Clemson man needs no introduction..."
She laughed and said she has heard that many times, and understands fully. Really nice family she had with her as well.
BTW, Haywood Mall was a ZOO Saddity. The traffic on the I-385N exit was almost a mile in length getting off 385 to turn left toward the mall. CRAZY!!!
Merry Christmas to all of TigerNet!!!!
