How is a UCLA win good for Clemson?
Nov 30, 2012, 9:58 PM

With UCLA at #16 would they not jump us in the standings? I would think a top 10 win on the road would push them up 2 spots. I guess all this is banking on the fact that Oklahoma is going to lose and drop behind us? I guess we need to pull for GT to win tomorrow and FSU drop behind us as well.

UCLA has 3 losses, they will not jump us in the BCS. and it would not matter anyway because they would get the automatic bid and Oregon would get the at large over Stanford.

They still might get an at large.

And with a bad showing by either Bama or UGA there's a good chance they'd be #4 with an automatic bid at that point.

We were discussing Stanford or Oregon as an at large.
One of the two is certainly going, and I was simply pointing out that if Oregon is at #4 they are guaranteed a spot. Has nothing to do with us.

Unless you just don't like Stanford. The winner goes to the Rose. Oregon already has an at large so the PAC-12 game really doesn't matter for us.

Had a chance to help us by winning last week.
But this week it means nothing as 2 out of Oregon, Stanford, and UCLA will go no matter what.

If you're talking about last week.

Had they beaten Stanford and lost to Oregon in PAC10 championship there would be a chance (a small one) that only 1 team from the PAC10 would go.
Outside of that it is virtually guaranteed that 2 out of the 3 are going to the BCS.

With a win they likely take the at-large spot. northern Illinois at 20 is to far back.
