How do we have 80 freshmen and sophomores on team?

Oct 10, 2019, 4:04 PM

How many walk-ons are on the team? Here are the recruit counts by year not counting any transfers out:

14 in 2017 (some redshirt sophomores in here?)
17 in 2018
29 in 2019

Didn't spend time to cross reference Roster to each recruiting class. How many Herbstreit kid examples are there?

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Logan Cash is on the list but he has left the team. I never doubt anything Dabo says. Dabo tells it like it is with no embellishments.

I got the same count of 81. Forgot Cash left so that's 80.

It's very simple; all the others are junior class or higher. Duh.

People are going to think of 85 being the total # on the team. We do have a lot of young guys and we will likely always have a higher # of Fr/So as we have a lot of guys that leave with eligibility left- NFL, graduated w eligibility remaining and want playing time elsewhere, graduated with eligibility left and coaches tell them they are best to move on, etc. Not to mention anyone redshirted in their first 2 years is still a So in year 3.

Forty here and forty there and the first thing you know you have 80!

It means 80 guys are either in their first year of college or second. Some third if they redshirted. Some one had to say it,lol.

A good many walk-ons I suppose.

They are counting all the walk ons.

Saying we have 80 freshman and sophomores is fairly disingenuous.

BTW, Fr RFr and So should be 60% of your roster.

Pretty Simple: First Year Freshmen, Redshirt Freshmen, 2nd Year “True Sophmores” and 3rd Year Redshirt Sophmores.
