How close were we, if we were close at all, at getting Trey Smith?

Dec 7, 2016, 7:18 AM

Do you think USUCKS players and Muschamps lies about our offensive line had anything at all to do with him not coming here?

Yes, this was the worst kept secret in the recruiting world...he was always going to UT, winners of Champions of Life trophy!

Someone forgot to whisper that secret to David Pollack and Paul Finebaum.

Pollock said Trey was heading to Bama yesterday on ESPNU and Paul's face lit up like a kid rounding the corner with first sight of their family's Christmas tree on Christmas morning. Paul was grinning from ear to ear.

Yes - unlike many hires of recruits' family members, she was well-qualified for the position. Not too shady.

wait, don't bash the kid for wanting to be a Champion of Life

Dec 7, 2016, 8:13 AM

Good for him, he's going to ALWAYS have that special title now. It a quite noble thing to have.

Good grief

Dec 7, 2016, 8:24 AM

Give it a rest, people. We haven't been a factor with Smith since summer

Appreciate the thumbs down. Smh...sorry it's not possible for me to follow the recruiting like I'd like to follow it and I have always viewed everyone on here as a good resource. Lesson learned from the basement living mamas boy who TD me.

Dude this post is old. You must be extremely bored at work going back 7 pages to find this thread.

Clemson hasn't really been a factor with Trey Smith...

Dec 7, 2016, 9:01 AM

since Butch Jones hired Smith's sister as a "special assistant" several weeks ago.

Evokes memories of the LameCocks hiring Alshon Jeffery's father.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

We weren't in the final 3.

Dec 7, 2016, 9:52 AM

So nowhere close.

We might have been fourth.

His mom passed away recently and he wanted to stay close to home and family.

His sister was a Tennessee athlete and was recently hired onto the football staff.

IT REALLY NEVER WAS CLOSE.

YOU CAN'T GET THEM ALL!!!
